YOUR NEW PARTS WARRANTY (REVISED 06/24/2015)

Abilene Computer Service warrants to you that we will replace a defective new retail packaged part purchased from us at our retail location with a like or similar item (if item is no longer available or in-stock) for a period of 15-days.

We also warrant the following:

  • All new retail packaged parts (except memory in retail packaging or any brand Printer or Monitor - These parts are covered by a separate manufacturers warranty. Please see the manufacturers warranty statement for terms and conditions) purchased from Abilene Computer Service AND NOT INSTALLED BY US carry a 15-day in-store replacement limited warranty. After 15-days the manufacturers warranty applies. If we installed the part please see our labor warranty.
  • What is covered by this limited warranty?

    This limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in your Abilene Computer Service part purchased directly from our store only for a period of 15-days. Beyond 15-days the manufacturers warranty only applies. Special order parts do not qualify under this warranty, please see manufactures warranty for more information on how to apply for warranty on special ordered parts.

    What is not covered by this limited warranty?

    This limited warranty expressly DOES NOT cover:

  • Any Software that has been opened or was sold in "As is" condition
  • Monitors - Monitors are covered under the manufacturer warranty only - see your warranty for details.
  • Printers - Printers are covered under the manufacturer warranty only - see your warranty for details.
  • RAM products sold in sealed consumer packaging are covered under the manufacturer warranty only - see manufactures website for details
  • CPU's (Processors) that were sold in sealed (PIB or similar anti-tamper packaging) consumer packaging. Original manufacturers warranty only applies - See warranty included with package for return procedure
  • Problems that result from:

  • External causes such as accident, abuse, misuse, or problems with electrical power or telephone systems
  • Servicing not authorized or provided by us
  • Usage that is not in accordance with product instructions
  • Failure to follow the product instructions or failure to perform preventive maintenance
  • Problems caused by using accessories, parts, or components not supplied by us
  • Products with missing or altered serial numbers
  • Products for which we have not received payment
  • Products received more than 15-days from the date of the original invoice
  • Special ordered parts and accessories - manufacutrers warranty may still apply.
  • THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE (OR JURISDICTION TO JURISDICTION).     How long does this limited warranty last?

    This parts limited warranty lasts for 15-days from the date of purchase (as indicated on your invoice). The warranty period is not extended if we repair or replace a warranted part. Abilene Computer Service may change the availability of limited warranties, at its discretion, but any changes will not be retroactive.

    What do I do if I need warranty service?

    Before the warranty expires, please present the failed part to us at our place of business along with all original packaging and manuals and accessories originally included with the product. You will be required to present proof of purchase at this time. Please have your invoice copy handy.

    What will Abilene Computer Service do?

    During the first 15-days of all limited warranties: During the first 15-days of this limited warranty, we will repair or replace a defective retail packaged part directly purchased from Abilene Computer Service at our store -provided part(s) prove to be defective in materials or workmanship. You are responsible for the cost of returning defective parts to us. If we are not able to repair the product, we will replace it with a comparable product that is new or refurbished.

    When you contact us, we will issue a Return Material Authorization Number for you to include with your return. You must return the products to us in their original or equivalent packaging, prepay shipping charges, and insure the shipment or accept the risk if the product is lost or damaged in shipment. We will return the repaired or replacement products to you. We will pay to ship the repaired or replaced products to you if you use an address in the United States (excluding Puerto Rico and U.S. possessions and territories). Otherwise, we will ship the product to you freight collect.

    If we determine that the problem is not covered under this warranty, we will notify you and inform you of service alternatives that are available to you on a fee basis.

    Note: Before you ship/deliver the product(s) to us, make sure to back up the data on the hard drive(s) and any other storage device(s) in the product(s). Remove any confidential, proprietary or personal information, REMOVE THE ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD FROM THE SYSTEM, removable media, such as floppy disks, CDs, or PC Cards. We are not responsible for any of your confidential, proprietary or personal information; lost or corrupted data; or damaged or lost removable media.

    Note: Before you replace parts, make sure to back up the data on the hard drive(s) and any other storage device(s) in the product(s). We are not responsible for lost or corrupted data.

    What if I purchased a service contract?

    If you are on an active service contract with Abilene Computer Service, service will be provided to you under the terms of the service agreement. Please call us at 325-676-7222 to arrange for a service technician to assist you.

    Is my limited warranty transferable?

    Abilene Computer Service Limited warranties on parts may not be transferred. Warranties provided by manufacturers may be transferable. Please see the manufacturers limited warranty statement for specific coverage's and transferability. You will be required to produce the original invoice when requesting parts replacement -repair.

    LIMITED WARRANTY FOR LABOR AND PARTS INSTALLED BY US (REVISED 06/24/2015)

    Paid repairs and parts installations are warranted for 30-days after completion of work. Failure of parts purchased from us and installed by us within 30-days from the date of the original service invoice will be replaced and installed by us free of charge. After 30-days the manufacturers warranty applies. You are required to present the item, part or computer system to us at our regular place of business for any warranty service or replacement. You must request warranty service before the expiration of this warranty. Failed parts must be returned to us not-later-than 30-days from the date of the original invoice to qualify for in-house replacement. Parts warranties after the first 30-days must be handled with the manufacturer directly.

    What is covered by this limited warranty?

    This limited warranty covers defects in workmanship in your Abilene Computer Service-provided Labor or Parts only for a period of 30-days.

    What is not covered by this limited warranty?

    This limited warranty expressly DOES NOT cover:

  • Any Software installation , including the operating system and software added to or substantially changed since we provided the original service or labor.
  • Problems that result from:

  • External causes such as accident, abuse, misuse, or problems with electrical power or telephone systems.
  • Servicing not authorized or provided by us.
  • Usage that is not in accordance with product instructions.
  • Failure to follow the product instructions or failure to perform preventive maintenance.
  • Operating system and application updates supplied to you via updates links or automatic update software (eg; Windows update)
  • Problems caused by using accessories, parts, or components not supplied by us.
  • Labor or services for which we have not received payment (except those accounts on time payment plans that are current).
  • Parts received after 30-days from your original labor invoice

The warranty period is not extended if we re-accomplish the repair or replace the part. Abilene Computer Service may change the availability of limited warranties, at its discretion, but any changes will not be retroactive.

    What do I do if I need warranty service?

    What will Abilene Computer Service do?

    During the first 30-days of this limited labor warranty, we will re-accomplish any Abilene Computer Service-provided labor actions that prove to be defective in workmanship including on-site labor (If the original service was accomplished on-site, we will accomplish any warranty repairs at the location where the service was originally provided, if requested to do so. If the original job was accomplished in-store, we will accomplish any warranty repairs at our business location. If we are unable to repair the product we will refund your paid labor charges.

    Limited Warranty for Abilene Computer Service Creative Series Computer Systems

    Abilene Computer Service Custom Series, and Business Series computer systems carry a 1-year parts and labor warranty (or, as stated on your invoice) and all work is performed in our shop by the same people who built your computer.

    The following sections describe the limited warranties and return policy for the U.S.

    What is covered by this limited warranty?

    This limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in your Abilene Computer Service-branded computer system to the original purchaser only. Limited warranties are not transferable.

    What is not covered by this limited warranty?

    This limited warranty expressly DOES NOT cover:

  • Any Software, including the operating system and software added to the Abilene Computer Service branded computer by us or our suppliers.
  • Any preventive or regular maintenance service such as, but not limited to; cleaning of fans, cleaning of power supplies, performing regular software updates and service packs, or problems caused thereby.
  • Problems that result from:

  • External causes such as accident, abuse, misuse, or problems with electrical power or telephone systems
  • Servicing not authorized or provided by us
  • Usage that is not in accordance with product instructions
  • Failure to follow the product instructions or failure to perform preventive maintenance
  • Parts failures caused by failing to perform preventive maintenance service
  • Problems caused by using accessories, parts, or components not supplied and installed by us.
  • Virus' or other forms of malware and spy-ware.
  • File sharing services such as Kazza or Morphius or Limewire or any similar P2P programs.
  • Products with missing or altered serial numbers
  • Products for which we have not received full payment (excluding payment plans in good standing).
  • Acts of God (storms, lighting, flood, earthquake, etc.)
  • Systems warranty seal is removed or tampered with.
  • Missing or altered user data (Customer is responsible for backing up data)
  • Monitors purchased with your computer system (Monitors are covered under a separate manufacturer warranty only - see the manufacturers warranty for details.)
  • Printers purchased with your computer system (Printers are covered under a separate manufacturer warranty only - see the manufacturers warranty for details.)

The warranty period is not extended if we repair or replace a warranted product or any parts. Abilene Computer Service may change the availability of limited warranties, at its discretion, but any changes will not be retroactive.

    What do I do if I need warranty service?

    Before the warranty expires, present the system to us at our regular place of business. You will be required to present a copy of your original invoice at this time. Please have your invoice copy handy.

    What will Abilene Computer Service do?

    During the first year of all limited warranties: During the first year of all limited warranties, we will repair any new Abilene Computer Service-branded computer system returned to us that proves to be defective in materials or workmanship. If we are not able to repair the product, we will replace it with a comparable product that is new or refurbished.

    When you contact us, we will issue a Return Material Authorization Number (RMA #) for you to include with your return. You must return the product(s) to us or ship it/them to us in it's/their original or equivalent packaging, prepay shipping charges, and insure the shipment or accept the risk if the product is lost or damaged in shipment. We will return the repaired or replacement product(s) to you. We will pay to ship the repaired or replaced product(s) to you if you use an address in the United States (excluding Puerto Rico and U.S. possessions and territories). Otherwise, we will ship the product to you freight collect.

    If we determine that the problem is not covered under this warranty, we will notify you and inform you of service alternatives that are available to you on a fee basis.

    During the remaining time: For the remaining period of the limited warranty, we will replace any defective part with new or refurbished parts, if we agree that it needs to be replaced. When you contact us, we will require a valid credit card number at the time you request a replacement part, but we will not charge you for the replacement part as long as you return the original part to us within thirty days after we ship the replacement part to you. If we do not receive the original part within thirty days, we will charge to your credit card the then-current standard price for that part.

    We will pay to ship the part to you if you use an address in the United States, (excluding Puerto Rico and U.S. possessions and territories). Otherwise, we will ship the part, freight collect.

    What if I purchased a service agreement?

    If you are under an active service agreement with Abilene Computer Service, service will be provided to you under the terms of your service agreement. Please call us at 325-676-7222 to arrange for a service technician to assist you.

    How will you fix my product?

    We use new and refurbished parts made by various manufacturers in performing warranty repairs and in building replacement parts and systems. Refurbished parts and systems are parts or systems that have been returned to Abilene Computer Service, some of which were never used by a customer. All parts and systems are inspected and tested for quality. Replacement parts and systems are covered for the remaining period of the limited warranty for the product you bought. Abilene Computer Service owns all parts removed from repaired products.

    Is my limited warranty transferable?

    Limited warranties on computer systems are not transferable. You may be required to produce a copy of the original sales invoice when requesting service.
